Dean

Dean is technically a “grey” poodle, however, his design utilizes various shades of green. These can range depending on the artwork from dark green, olive, tan, or even turquoise (depending on how stylized the colors are).

Stylistically, I always draw my characters with black eyelids. This is not representative of make up, I just appreciate this artistic choice. If an eye color is needed for a particular style, a light grey can be used.

In some illustrations, Dean is seen with gold canines. This is an old design characteristic that has been scrapped and should not be included in any future illustrations.

Dean portrays himself as cocky, arrogant, and smooth, with a mouth that gets him into trouble and has the tendency to bite off more than it can chew. This is, in a lot of ways, a defense for his social insecurities. Dean cares about what other people think of him and, despite the results his abrasive personality may provide, wants people to like him. Dean fears being alone and not receiving the attention he desires, and makes up for it by often being the loudest person in the room, be it through dress or conversation.

Dean isn’t malicious in nature, and any hurtful or irritating remarks are usually made in good fun. He isn’t typically one for manipulation and is very accepting of other people as they are. He is, however, jealous in nature, and this jealousy can make him overly competitive and possessive. Embarrassment is the fastest way to shut him down. In these scenarios, he is incapable of laughing anything off and may disappear altogether.

Dean is a social hound and knows a lot of people, but most of these relationships are superficial and easily discarded. While he has many friends, he lacks a lot of close friends, as his personality prevents many people from considering him at more than arm’s length.

As an adult, his wardrobe becomes more sophisticated and he doesn’t often wear graphic t-shirts or sneakers. If wearing accessories, they are usually gold in color (this includes piercings). He’s usually wears wears black tops, but can wear other neutral colors. His footwear is usually a black pair of chelsea boots, but he can wear other types of boots as well.

As a teenager, his dress trends casual, typically wearing jeans and a t-shirt. His t-shirts can feature various band designs and miscellaneous graphics. His jeans are often ripped (he does this himself), and his mother disapproves and frequently throws them out. His shoes are usually converse, and he always wears a pair of black glasses, as he’s blind as shit.
